Commit to the Lord

Proverbs 16:3 Commit your actions to the Lord,
    and your plans will succeed.

There are three ways we fail at committing our actions to God:

  1. Commit superficially–doing something for ourselves but saying we are doing it for God.
  2. Commit temporarily–taking back control when things aren’t going our way.
  3. Commit without effort–thinking God will do all the work and we have no responsibilities.

We are to trust God as if everything depends on Him and work as if everything depends on us.

One Response to Commit to the Lord

  1. “We are to trust God as if everything depends on Him and work as if everything depends on us.”
Succinctly and powerfully put. Your 3 points are spot on.

    Thank you for this reminder.
