Romans 10:17 Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
External change is not so difficult to accomplish. We can change where and how we spend our time and our money. We can read different books and watch different television shows and movies. We can go to church, read our Bibles, spend time in prayer. But it’s the internal change that matters, and that comes from transforming our mind through the truth of God’s Word. It is easy to be conformed to the pattern of the world. We are bombarded with it every day. It is up to us to fill our minds with scripture so we can repel the worldview and take hold of a biblical view.
Dare today to examine your heart and mind for your real values–be honest–decide if they line up with the world or match up with God’s values. Determine to make the necessary changes so that they line up with God’s ideals.
“To think of myself with sober judgment involves taking a candid look at who I am, how I am living, and to whom I belong. It is humility of thought about myself. This humility is dependence. This humility involves understanding that God is my provider and looking to Him in all things.”¹
[Read Malachi 1-4]
Malachi 4:2-3 “But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicket as if they were dust under your feet,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Help me to be honest as I examine my life. Show me where I am trying to fit into the world. Renew me and restore me to You. Amen.
