James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
God wants us to pray for healing for others and for ourselves. He may answer our prayers the way we expect Him to, or He may choose to answer them with a result we do not understand. I have known people who were diagnosed with fatal diseases who have prayed in faith for healing. Some were blessed with healing and continued to live on Earth while others were received into Heaven. We may never understand what God chooses to answer healing prayers the way that He does, but I have been and seen others blessed and changed by how someone lived faithfully as they were dying. We have all heard the saying “God works in mysterious ways” and healing is one of those ways. We are asked to pray in faith for those who need healing. Answers will come to us as we fill our prayers with faith.
“If you have prayed and prayed and have not been healed, it could be that God is using you, too, to be an encouragement to others to not give up. The Holy Spirit in you can make a difference in all who are around you, no matter what condition you are in. Always pray for healing, but know that God has the final say on whom He heals.”¹
[Read Job 1-8]
Job 5:8-9 “If I were you, I would go to God and present my case to him. He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles.”
I pray that the Holy Spirit will manifest Himself in my life so I can pray for people to be healed and they will be. Move through me as I pray for others. Hear my prayers when I pray. Help me to glorify You when You answer my prayers. Help me to have faith in Your ability and trust You even when my prayers are not answered in my expectations. Amen.
