Led to Pray For Your Land (September 30, 2013)

2 Chronicles 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from my wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Praying for our nation is one of the most important responsibilities of a Christian.  Our country should be at the top of our prayer list.  We do not want to be around to see the results when God removes His hand completely from the United States.  We are already experiencing the consequences of removing God from our schools and public buildings.  Christians are being ridiculed, harassed and, in some cases, sued for their beliefs.  We are being falsely accused of discrimination.  It won’t be long before the sin in our country will invite God’s judgment; therefore, we should pray for repentance.

“If we don’t pray, we will be guilty of the consequences.  When we live our lives dependent upon the Holy Spirit as He leads us to pray, God is glorified and we are saved from ourselves.”¹

[Read Nehemiah 7-13]

Nehemiah 9:3 They remained standing in place for three hours while the Book of the Law of the Lord their God was read aloud to them.  Then for three more hours they confessed their sins and worshiped the Lord their God.

Father God,
Give me a heart to pray for the United States.  Give us, as Americans, repentant hearts and help us turn from our wicked ways.  Help us to seek Your face so You will hear from Heaven and heal our land.  Enable us to be led by the Holy Spirit to rise up in prayer and take our country back.  Amen.
