Jesus and Emotions: Christ’s Humanity (June 12, 2013)

John 1:14 “The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

“Lifelong Goal:  In Christ you will express your emotions in ways that honor God.” {p. 142 “The Mind of Christ Workbook“}

Often my emotions get the best of me.  No matter how hard I try, when the unexpected hits, I often overreact.  It’s worse when my expectations of frustration and aggravation are met.  Christ was able to control His emotional impulses.  In order to be like Him, I must control mine with godly wisdom and self-control.

[Read Mark 14-16]

Mark 14:47 But one  of the men with Jesus pulled out his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, slashing off his ear.

Father God,
Thank You for sending Your Son as an example of how to live.  Please give me godly wisdom and self-control when it comes to expressing my emotions.  Help me to glorify You in all I do and say. Amen.
