Peaceable (May 22, 2013)

“Our world is full of quarrels and war because we are seeking positions.  Peace comes when we serve one another mutually just as Jesus served others.” {p. 79 “The Mind of Christ Workbook“}

Peace brings harmony into the body of Christ. When we aren’t clamoring for recognition, praise and honor but serving others to the glory of God, that’s when we will demonstrate peace.  Becoming peaceable means recognizing when the peace is needed, praying for wisdom in our response to the circumstances, operating with a servant’s heart and, most importantly, seeking out ways to come to an agreement without compromising convictions or truth.

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”  Hebrews 12:14

[Read Luke 22-24]

Luke 22:25-26 Jesus told them, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people, yet they are called ‘friends of the people’.  But among you it will be different.  Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.”

Father God,
We live in a world of little peace and much compromise.  Shape my life to be peaceable like Christ and work through me to show peace to the world. Amen.
