Living Intentionally (April 17, 2013)

“…unless I have thought fully and prayerfully considered how I ought to live and act differently, I’m likely to make the very same mistakes again next time.” {p. 91 “The 10 Second Rule“}

Intentionality is a buzzword these days.  People are talking about it a lot –both believers and non-believers.  As believers, we need to live intentionally for Christ.  We need to put aside the ways of the world and take on the character of Christ.  It has to be an intentional decision or otherwise we will revert back to our old ways.

[Read Luke 12]

Luke 12:47 “And a servant who knows what the Master wants, but isn’t prepared and doesn’t carry out those instructions, will be severely punished.”

Thanks to the Bible and the gift of the Holy Spirit, we know what God desires of us.  We have no excuse for ignoring the needy or not feeding the hungry.  There’s no good reason for disobeying God.

Father God,
I am a sinner.   I, like everyone else, am not perfect.   But You have given me the gift of salvation anyway.  I want to be obedient, but the world gets in the way.  Help me become more intentional about how I live my life so that obedience comes naturally.  Amen.
