John 2:23-25 Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in Him. But Jesus didn’t trust them because He knew human nature. No one needed to tell Him what mankind is really like.
Human nature is fickle. It causes us to believe weird things and follow crazy people. Our minds change like the wind. Many saw Jesus perform miracles and believed. But Jesus requires more than superficial faith. He calls us to believe in Him even when the world is absent of miracles. He doesn’t want wishywashy people who seek Jesus only when they like what He’s doing.
If we want to be people Jesus trusts, we need to stop asking for miracles to increase our faith. We need to start loving others and serving them in Jesus’ name. We need to be the miracle people are praying for and giving the glory to God.
It’s easy to believe when things are going our way and we see miracles around us. But there are times when we are meant to be the miracle in someone’s life so they will come to know You. Help me be the miracle. Amen.
