Psalm 119:1-8 1 Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. 2Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. 3 They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways. 4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. 5 Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees! 6 Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands. 7 I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.8 I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.
What joy floods our soul when we live in obedience to the Lord. Even more so when we are obedient through our struggles. We thank God by living as we should (Ps. 119:7).
Psalm 126:5 says “Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy!” Have you been planting tears lately? Have financial troubles, family issues, broken relationships stolen your joy? Whatever you have been facing may be bring tears and frustration. Plant them in the soil of God’s Word and rest in His promises. A harvest of joy is coming. At the proper time, the seeds you have planted will begin to sprout and you will be filled with abundant joy.
You are the King of Amazing. You show us great and mighty things we did not know. You watch over us as we plant seeds of sorrow and frustration knowing that in good time You will provide an abundant harvest of joy. We praise You in our sorrow. We thank You for our frustrations and we lift You up and glorify You in our harvest of joy. Amen.
