Arguing with God (February 7, 2013)

Job 40:1-2  Then the Lord said to Job, “Do you still want to argue with the Almighty?  You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?”

Our pride causes us to do foolish things including arguing with God.  We think we know better than god how to live our life and what we need.  However, our vision is limited whereas God can see the future–the big picture.  He knows what we need, the exact time we will need it and the best way to give it to us.

We second guess God and wonder if He truly cares about us.  However, when we look back we can see the loving hand of God as He provides for our needs, comforts us in our pain and walks with us in our struggles.  He never forsakes us.

Father God,
We often question Your plans for our lives especially when we are walking through dark times.  Remind us of the things you did in the past, so we can clearly see Your hand in the present.  Amen.
