Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases Him, and love Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul.
We take God’s forgiveness, grace and mercy for granted when we seek after our own desires with the intention of asking for forgiveness later. We should be living in such a way that when we sin it grieves us as much as it grieves God. Even though it is impossible to live a perfect life without sin, it should be our desire to employ methods to prevent participating in the same sins over and over and over again. In order to honor God, we are given three tasks:
1. Fear God;
2. Live in a way that pleases God; and
3. Love and serve God with all our hearts and souls.
In so doing, we will receive blessings from God. I want to live my life knowing that when my time on earth is done I will have no regrets. Nothing will be left undone. No one who knew me will feel unloved and those who met me saw Jesus.
It’s too easy to live our lives the way we want. We can hear our own voices so well and the world is telling us to just do it without worrying about tomorrow. But You tell us we are not promised a tomorrow to repent. It is urgent that we live our lives in obedience because life happens daily. I want my life to be a blessing for others. Show me what changes need to be made so that others will see Jesus in me. Amen.
